I'M FAIZA.
I am a Pakistani-born, UK-based artist working primarily in oil. My practice is rooted in portraiture, driven by a lifelong fascination with human features and expressions. Through my work, I seek to explore the emotional undercurrents that shape identity—those quiet, internal stories shaped by memory, relationships, and lived experience.
In my portraits, I often incorporate natural elements—plants and animals—as symbolic extensions of the human psyche. These serve as metaphors for emotion, transformation, and the layered nature of personal histories.
Recently, my practice has expanded to include landscape painting, both in the studio and en plein air. This shift has deepened my connection with the external world and introduced a new dialogue between the environment and the inner self. Just as in my portraits, my landscapes are less about representation and more about resonance—capturing mood, atmosphere, and the fleeting impressions that nature can leave upon us.
Whether depicting a face or a field, I am guided by the same impulse: to reveal what lies beneath the surface and to invite the viewer into a quiet space of reflection.
